Born in 2023 from the legendary Mongolian ensemble Egschiglen, the name Tengerton means both the “sound” and the “color of the sky”. The music of this string quartet is based on two emblematic elements of the Mongolian musical universe: the morin khuur fiddle and the fascinating khöömii throat-singing. The ensemble composed of super soloists (Sedaa, Argusan, Khukh Mongol) develops a contemporary musical language with which they interpret the rich repertoire of traditional songs with their own arrangements. By sharing these sounds and deepest emotions with the audience, Tengerton sings and plays with the power to transmit peace, respect for the forces of nature and protection of the environment.
